This month, Nevada law enforcement agencies joined forces to put a stop to distracted driving. From January 10 to January 22, law enforcement agencies throughout the state held a campaign to cite distracted drivers. Since 2012, it is illegal in Nevada to use a handheld electronic device, including cell phones, mp3 players, and even GPS systems while driving—and the law also applies when stopped at traffic signals or in congestion! Lieutenant Bret Ficklin stated “Anything that draws your attention away from your responsibilities on the roadway can lead to your death or somebody else’s death, because of your inability to respond.”
