Summit RecapThe 2016 Nevada Traffic Safety Summit was held on May 24-25 at the South Point Resort in Las Vegas. The purpose of the 2016 Summit was to gather safety partners from around the state to share best practices for implementing strategies and action steps to reach the ultimate goal of Zero Fatalities in Nevada. Approximately 250 attendees participated in the two-day Summit, representing the four “E’s” of transportation safety: Engineering, Enforcement, Education, Emergency Medical Services, and the fifth “E” – Everyone. 2016 Annual Nevada SHSP Awards

Each year awards are presented to recognize hard work, progress, and significant contributions in various areas related to the SHSP in Nevada. This year, nine awardees from Southern Nevada were recognized during the Nevada Traffic Safety Summit. Awards were presented by Colonel Dennis Osborn, Chief of the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) and Chair of the Nevada Executive Committee on Traffic Safety. Drive Sober logoThe Fourth of July – a holiday where we celebrate the land of the free, the home of the brave, and the adoption of America’s Declaration of Independence. For most, the Fourth is a time to fly our flags high, bar-b-que with family and friends, look up to the heavens at beautiful fireworks displays… and enjoy some frosty (alcoholic) beverages. What’s trending: Driver’s Edge

To date, over 110,000 young drivers and their parents across the United States have attended Driver’s Edge, an innovative and potentially life saving program based out of Las Vegas.
