The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) statistical projection of traffic fatalities (including motor vehicle occupants, motorcyclists, and people walking and biking) in 2020 shows that an estimated 38,680 people died in traffic crashes, an estimated 7.2% increase over 2019.
