The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released a free smartphone app that will notify users if a safety recall is issued for their vehicle. The app provides immediate information regarding what to do and how to get the recall fixed for free. The app also includes information on safety ratings, car seats, and car seat inspections.
Using the app is simple—just download from your smartphone app store, add your vehicle and type in or scan your vehicle identification number (VIN), and add information about your car seats, tires, and equipment. If vehicles and equipment have safety defects, NHTSA will immediately inform you of the recalls.
